Art Education is therapeutic, it helps people to discover and express their feelings. Art is an inexpensive and effective way of making a positive difference for those in need.
Jaibalito Train Station offers a number of different art workshops to the natives and is currently developing an art program with the local school.
International Volunteers from all over the world participate in our art program. Following is a description of some of our various workshops which are also open to tourists.
Health Education: in 2005-2006, Medicos del Mundo ran a 6 month health education program to educate members of the native community concerning health issues. Now the village has 3 health care providers, one of whom is Helena who is in charge of the Hospitalito.
We also wish to develop a medicinal plant education program with the school.
English Education: the Train Station currently has a volunteer, Patrick Bostwick who gives English classes at the local school.
If you would like to participate, sponsor our initiative, have an idea or a project please, feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities.
